By FNN | February 16, 2012, 2:31pm IST
Sanjay Dutt over the years has been seen in myriad avatras, however the actor is most remembered for his gangster roles. Now adding another role to this list is his next film with Ashtavinayak in which he will be seen playing the role of a Gujarati gangster.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the film which is being produced by Ashtavinayak and directed by Soham Shah will feature Dutt portraying the real life gangster Sharman Munjha Jadeja from Porbandar, Gujarat.

In real life Sharman Munjha, better known as the Robinhood of Gujarat, ruled Porbandar and other places in Saurashtra in the 80s.

Rumours say that Vivek Oberoi will also be part of the film, however sources state that talks are still on with Vivek to essay one of the male lead roles while Chitrangda Singh is likely to play the leading lady.

Confirming this, the spokesperson from Ashtavinayak says, "Yes Sanjay will be doing the film."

The film is slated to go on floors on May 2 and will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule while being one of the most expensive films of the year.

After this film, Sanjay Dutt jumps on to the remake of Satte Pe Satta which will be co-produced by Ashtavinayak and Sanjay Dutt's banner. "Satte Pe Satta will start immediately post the completion of this Soham's film," adds the spokesperson.
