Lekar Hum Deewan Dil is the story of two college BFF's who elope when the girls father decides to get her married much against her wishes. It is a sweetly told tale no doubt, but it has been stretched so much that at one point it takes all your might to stop yourself from shouting for it to get done with. Also the incessant onslaught of songs does not help one bit... to the extent that you don't know when one song stops and the other begins! Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is a spectacular mix of Imtiaz Ali's (his brother Arif Ali, has directed the film) Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met. The whole movie has such an indelible stamp of Imtiaz all over that he may have very well have ghost directed it. The lead pair grows on you -- Armaan Jain has a penchant for hamming it but his confidence is praiseworthy and if you ignore the eyebrows, he is lovable! Deeksha Seth is adept and pleasantly appealing. On the whole both are promising. This 2 star modern-age tale of romance and friendship should go down well with teeny boppers and college kids.. as for the rest of us it would be a great watch if you are cozily ensconced on your couches at home or if you have nothing better to do on a rainy day. -- Published on July 4, 2014
