Mere Dad Ki Maruti (MDKM) is an outrageous comedy set against the backdrop of a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh. MDKM tells the story of a boy who sneaks his dad's fancy new car out to impress the college hottie and how all hell breaks loose when he loses it!
There's some nice chemistry between Sameer and his faithful buddy Gattu who together make varied attempts to replace the missing car before Daddyji finds out. Their banter alone makes for some of the film's funniest moments. If you don't understand Punjabi, it would be advisable to take along a friend who does. Not hard to like, don't expect much more.
Critic Score: 3/5
This isn't a laugh-out-loud comic romp. But some of the gags the film rustles up are genuinely funny and bear the stamp of a degree of cleverness that one rarely encounters in an average Mumbai comedy.
Critic Score: 3/5
Don't expect an out-and-out comedy, the film is a light-hearted family entertainer with a message for the youth. Do take your dad along for it, in his gaddi!
Critic Score: 3/5
On the whole, Mere Dad Ki Maruti won't disappoint you. The film takes the audience on a roller coaster ride that will leave them roar with laughter. You'll love this 'papa-beta' combo.

It’s a ride, a goofy, forgettable ride. One that throws up a debutant director with promise and actors who deserve to be in more films. Give it a whirl. Like a Rado wristwatch that a character automatically dismisses for fake, this film may not look like it but happens to be the real thing.
Critic Score: 3.5/5
On the whole, MERE DAD KI MARUTI is a joyride. Mazedaar, masaledaar, full-on entertainer. Hitch a ride on this one instantly!
Critic Score: 3.5/5
I sat through the first half looking for something to surprise me. But, post interval, things perk up. The plot catches speed, the writing smartens, and some twists leave you smiling. And the actors come out better too, more filled out, taking a cue from the lines they are made to say. At its best it is placid, and sort of middling, this Mere Dad Ki Maruti.
Critic Score: 2.5/5
Mere Dad Ki Maruti is just another really well made small budget film that tickles your funny bones, breaking you down into fits of unforced giggles and laughter! Give your popcorn a miss and enjoy this mad cap comic caper as it will be worth your time and money! Waste feil gayi, yaar!
Critic Score: 3/5
Mere Dad Ki Maruti is a sweet, no-nonsense film that makes you smile and giggle in equal proportion with its amazing simplicity.
